Philippines used to be one of the leading producer of rubber globally. Unfortunately, this has changed due to factors such as poor trade practices that resulted to poor quality of rubbers produced.
The Surface Toughness Analyzer for Rubber (STAR), formerly known as the Nanosensor for Rubber Quality, aims to help farmers, rubber latex processors, and brokers to make good quality cuplumps that can be sold at a high cost. It can also be used by Local governments and regulatory agencies can also use this technology to identify and apprehend anyone who uses battery solution, which is discouraged, in producing cuplumps.
