Back in the days, the Philippines used to be a top producer of sea cucumber. The country is now behind due to unregulated harvesting and trade. Efforts are made to restore the economic viability of sea cucumber.
The hybrid dryer for sea cucumber is a mechanized system that was designed to be easily used by small-scale fisher folks involved in the harvesting of sea cucumbers. It helps produce premium-grade dried sea cucumbers with reduced microbial content, improved shelf life, and no foul odor versus traditional drying. The hybrid dryer can be operated using solar heat, biomass burner, or electricity.
